To living the life you truly desire

Just say yes! About a year ago, I started using this phrase to welcome the power that's created when I allow the synergy between my desires and agreeing with the Universe that I'm entitled to those desires, to flourish. Saying yes to what should be active in your life creates instant abundance.
Just Say Yes!, is the act of admitting to what you really want and agreeing with the Universe that you should have it. Everyone knows that you naturally attract whatever you say yes to. Once you consciously or subconsciously agree to something it will hasten to your doorstep.
Just say Yes!, is a shift in thinking and it's become a personal mission, a kind of campaign that's all about having a desire and not resisting it. It's about saying yes to the kind of desire that attaches itself to your soul and just won't let go. A desire that's so powerful, that when you finish your coffee it's there at the bottom of the cup reminding you of its energy; when you go for groceries it's sitting between the grape and strawberry jam staring you in the eyes reminding you of its power to change your life; when you get to work it's already sitting in your chair grinning, reminding you of the multiple streams of satisfaction you can actually have. But, "just saying yes" can be kind of difficult.

There are literally hundreds of negative thoughts that get in the way of saying yes to our desires. Some we inherit from the conditioning of our families, and some from the conditioning of society. Either way, conditioning can lead to worrying about being 'right,' which can make it pretty hard for someone who wants to live the life they truly desire. But, there is something you can do to combat those negative thoughts; but you have to prepare yourself, because although it will be beneficial, at first it won't be easy. Now, time for some good old cliches: "Anything worth having you have to work for," and "Take the road less traveled you won't regret it." These may be cliches, but they still ring true. The road to Just Say Yes! is a road less traveled, but if you stick to it, you definitely won't regret it.
To start your very own Just Say Yes! campaign you're going to need to work on several things, sometimes simultaneously. The action plan for your Just Say Yes! campaign should go a little something like this: A conscious activation of courage which leads to truth-telling, which leads to clarity, which leads to desire, which leads to permission, which leads to ambition, which leads to plans, which leads to energy, which leads to implementation, which leads to happiness & joy, which places you smack dab in the middle of living the life you truly desire.
Now, let's take a closer look at how to work your plan.

Maya Angelou believes that "courage is the most important of all the virtues, because without courage you can't practice any other virtue consistently. You can practice any virtue erratically, but nothing consistently without courage." I agree with Miss Angelou whole heartedly. Courage must precede anything we dare to begin. Whether it be a new way of thinking, dressing, or living; you name it, new-ness inherently requires the courage to step away from the norm or your comfort zone and set out on the unchartered path of your future. So what is courage? Courage isn't the absence of fear, it's the act of moving forward in the face of fear and/or doubt. One of the greatest joys of our existence can be found in looking back at the fears that once held us captive and relishing in the feeling of accomplishment that going forward can bring. Yes, our fears can be debilitating, but just like applying salve to heal a wound, applying courage can quell those fears and the consistent application of courage can shut them up for good! Everyday each of us has to use courage. You simply have to work at it. The next time fear raises its head, daring to come between you and your goal, just grab courage by the hand and do what you need to get to the other side.

Let's face it, truth telling is not something we've been trained to do on a regular basis. At any moment we may find ourselves telling little white lies to our friends, co-workers and loved ones. There may be instances where a tiny little lie has its place, but telling them to yourself should never be an option. Not tiny ones and certainly not the big ones we're inclined to tell ourselves about what we want out of our lives. A girlfriend of mine is single and her mom is always telling her that if she lowered her standards she'd improve her chances of finding a mate. Well, this may be true, but she'd most likely not end up with the kind of mate she desires. For now, she's committed to standing by her truth no matter what kind of well-intentioned-motherly-pressures are brought to bear. Truth telling (to yourself) is a critical step that must be mastered or your Just Say Yes! campaign will never even get off the ground.

Recently, I read a quote at The Authentic You Online "The art of being wise is knowing what to overlook." - William James. To know what to overlook, you have to get clear about what you really want. When I'm teaching my classes I frequently hear the students say things like "I'm confused Professor Hart," or the all time favorite way to sum up a request for input, "I don't know." Several years ago, I made up a rule that no student could end a comment with "I don't know." They now have to say "I don't know yet." They laugh when I correct them, but they understand that by adding a small three letter word, yet, we move from unclear thoughts to the prospect of clarity. Clarity is essential for your Just Say Yes! campaign to work. So, grab a seat, take a walk, or go for a drive and be still, meditate, think about what it is that you deeply care about. What makes you enthusiastic? What fires up your engine? Invite this awakening awareness to take a seat at the table that is your life. Welcome clarity with open arms and you will naturally proceed to the next step in living the life you truly desire.

When you desire something the whole world should know about it through your word and deed. To desire something is not the same as wishing for it. Wishing I were a millionaire, and desiring to become a millionaire are two distinct ways of thinking. One inspires action and the other inspires finding pots of gold at the end of the rainbow. After you get clear about what you want, let yourself be affected by your desires and they will leap to the front of the line of your life clamoring for attention. Those things you long for: a nice home, a decent car, a college degree, a different body, ending domestic violence, a mate, ending hunger in America... whatever you desire will begin to crowd out all lesser thoughts and demand that you pay attention. Giving your desires the position they deserve will compel you to move forward in living the life you truly desire.
