Today's Tuesday and time for the motivational quote of the week.
I've been divorced for almost 10 years. Since that time, I've studied quite a few books to make discoveries and grow as a result of my life experiences. One of the books that helped me to heal and make significant discoveries is "Conscious Loving:A journey to a co-committed relationship," by Gaye and Kathleen Hendricks. There are so many fantastic quotes in this book that I strongly recommend that you pick up a copy and read it cover to cover. For me, the discussions on truth telling and scattering the ash (I know, it sounds kind of weird, but when you read it it'll make a connection for you), were so meaningful. I still go back and re-read many of the passages. This book is helpful for all kinds of relationships. I'm sure you'll get a lot out of it.
"In a co-committed relationship you only have one big problem to solve: how to let yourself experience more and more positive energy on a minute-by-minute basis. You gradually train yourself to find more loving ways to handle the rest periods you need between times of closeness. Rather than bring yourself and the relationship down through negative habit patterns, you find positive alternatives for getting grounded and prepared for the next expansion of closeness. Eventually, with time and loving practice, you learn how to stay balanced in a state of continuous positive energy as your relationship grows in mutual creativity."
Learning to stay present to experience more and more positive energy! Now that's an appetizing concept. This book inspired me to design the tee shirt: "Let courage lead" for my company Words to Live By Tees. It's the current tee-of-the-month!
Remember, time is short. Do your happy dance. Enjoy life!
