The Power if Within You - Discover Your Creative Identity

For the month of December our book of the month is The Power is Within You by Lousie L. Hay.  This delightful book has 15 chapters and includes one chapter of meditations for healing.

This week we'll be looking at chapter 12 - Expressing Your Creativity.

Miss Hay says that our work is a divine expression and that our work serves as your expression of creativity. When we find our life's purpose which is discovering work that we love to do than we are practicing the ultimate self care - loving ourselves.

In my coaching practice I teach my students and clients to identify their CI or Creative Identity.  I use an exercise that helps them to discover their 5 core qualities of being which sums up their creative identity, or the space from which we make decisions about what we love to do. Your creative identity is who you came here to be, it constitutes the dominant qualities of being you creatively express. It drives you.

If you are not doing work ou love and thus limiting the expression of your creative identity you can begin to do affiration work that will help release you into your desired state. For example, I m working at a job where I can express my creative identity.  My work is deeply fulfilling to me" and "I am always happy when I am working"

Increase Your Motivation Mojo with Two Quick Tips

This morning I creeped out of bed and had intended to start working on a sales page for my Mind Spa workshop series for 2010. I truly inteded to spring from the bed and get right to work on that sales page, but something was stopping me. Guess what it was? A whole bunch of unfinished little projects and hidden clutter in my space.

The blame for all of this really falls on the shoulders of Jack Canfield (that's him on the left). For the past several days I've been re-listening to some of my favorite teleclass recordings from 2010 and as I was listening to Jack for the 8th time I heard him say that what we grow to tolerate really gets in the way of our being able to achieve our goals. Well last night in the car I agreed with what Jack was saying, but I had no idea it was stuck in my brain so deep.

Anywho, I got up his morning and to-do list was out the window. I looked around and the next thing I know I was cleaning like a whirling dirvish. I mean cleaning and fixing away! My attitude was "I am no longer tolerating anything." The drawer next to my computer without the handle and just the nail... fixed! The tee shirt inventory I'd been putting off... done! The vacuming and bathroom... complete! The file folders, yes the file folders... all sorted and cleaned out!

So, courtesy of Jack Canfield's great suggestion here's two quick tips for increasing your motivation mojo

#1 Look around and really see what you've been putting off or tolerating in your life and take an hour or two and just get it done. You will feel so refreshed and in alignement with taking action and compoleting things you will feel an exhilirating motivational boost. (trust me on this one!)

#2 - Don't hide from the hidden clutter in your files, binders and boxes.  With each piece of paper I recycled I began to feel lighter and lighter and my motivation to tackle that sales page went higher and higher. Hidden clutter can really drag you down with the weight of the unused material or old systems that no support where you need to go.

Tolerating things and hidden clutter really do a number on our motivation. Because they are subonscious for the most part we don't really notice. Well, take notice my friend and increase your motivation mojo with these two powerfu tips.

Wednesday's Word - Mindset

Welcome to my new weekly series: Wednesday's Word. 

 We all know that the power of life lies in our thoughts which results in us putting those thoughts into words or word forms in the wy that people who are involved in traditional artistic executions do.  Thus, words are very powerful. Words help us to articulate meaning. To make meaning. To express ourselves. Words are an extension of our creative power. 

The word for this Wednesday is Mindset.

I've been giving a lot of thought to this word recently, afterall, I am known as The Motivated Mindset Coach! But truthfull, I have been giving a fair amount of investigation to this word. I'll be hosting a huge Get Ready for 2010 virtual event on Friday Dec. 11th called The Mind Spa (www.yourmindspaonline.com ) and Mindset is exactly what we'll be focusing on. We'll be focusing on getting and staying 'Mindset Healthy!'

So, let's take a look at just what mindset is: A fixed mental attitude or disposition that predetermines a person's responses to and interpretations of situations. 2. An inclination or a habit.

To have a strong mindset is critical if you want to achieve anything you attempt in life. To achieve our dreams and goals we must have the right mindset because all it takes is a seed of doubt to get our mindset to veer off course.

Has that ever happened to you?  For example, you were all prepared to tackle a big goal and you run out of steam or doubt creeps in and you end up not going for the gusto.
