"This weeks quote comes from "Notes to Myself" by Hugh Prather. This slim little book is packed with the musings, observations and self reflections of Mr. Prather examining his life. Here's one of my favorite passages:
"My intuitive sense of the natural right thing to do under the circumstances, when it is really working, seems somehow to take future events into consideration. I feel, "Do this," and it is not until after wards that I can see the sense of it. To listen to my intuition is to identify with my entire awareness, to be my entire experience, and not just my conscious perception. My total awareness synthesizes into a calm sense of direction that is above reason." ~Hugh Prather
Right now, the GPS system (Global Positioning System) is the hottest thing to hit driving since, well, since the car hit the road! Personally, I'm so directionally challenged that all of my friends are shocked that I don't have two of these darn things. ;-)
The system of GPS is actually a constellation of 27 Earth-orbiting satellites (24 in operation and three extras in case one fails). The U.S. military developed and implemented this satellite network as a military navigation system, but soon opened it up to everybody else. The system operates by you typing in a destination and the system tells you when to turn and how far it is until you get to your destination. How cool is that!
